Get off the couch!
Life really is too short and none of us knows our own expiration date, so stop waiting and just go! No excuses, no whining, no what ifs, just go. I am not saying to just bail on your responsibilities in life. I am saying to find a way to do both. No one says you have travel first class or that you have to travel in a tent. You have to decide what works for you and guess what, you won’t know if you don’t try!
I have traveled by cruise ship, airplane, car, RV, bus, motorcycle, even your mom! Just kidding about that last one. I am a GenX’er, so you can expect lots of jokes… Any who, with travel you have to just try different things and see if you enjoy them. I recommend starting out simple, but not cheap. Her is my list of destinations I have explored in the past 30 years.
Eastern Caribbean: Cruise Ship out of Florida 18 trips
Western Caribbean: Cruise Ship out of Florida 19 trips
Transatlantic Cruise: Florida to Bermuda, Gibraltar, Alicante, and Barcelona.
Mediterranean Cruise: Barcelona to Turkey, France, Monte Carlo, Italy, and Greece. Flight back to the US.
Alaska: Cruise from Seattle, Washington
States explored by RV: Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
States explored by Car: Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Kentucky, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, California, Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.
States explored by Motorcycle: Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana.
States Explored by Air: Hawaii (Not driving there) 2 trips.
Holy crap that is a lot of places, I never honestly realized just how much it was. I guess it really does pay to write things down so that we don’t forget them.
Future travel plans:
2027 Japan
Many more motorcycle trips
Maybe build an Overland to explore Canada, Alaska, US, and South America.
